Sell My Property?
Have you ever asked another Realtor, "What is the market like? Is now a good time to sell?" My answer is typically always the same. Now is a great time to SELL - I'm kidding. My answer typically is, it just depends on what it is you're trying to accomplish. If you just purchased the home 3 months ago and now want to sell, it may not be the best time for you sell right now. Of course, sometimes you may have no choice. Anytime you go to sell your house, you will want to make sure you are taking advantage of the timing.
Here are some things you should know:
1) When is the best time to sell my house? Your agent should be able to collect all the data about what's happening in your neighborhood in today's market. After reviewing your CMA with your agent, you should be able to determine if now is a good time for you to sell your house. You'll want to consider the average DOM (Days On Market) and also the list to sold prices.
Another thing to look at here would be the season. Here in Indiana we sometimes fall into a seasonal market. Will you get more if you list your house December 15th or wait until February 1st? Looking through the past market data will be able to help you determine this.
You may be in a position where you need to sell your home today or are looking to sell in the near future. Whatever the case is, knowing the market and your plan ahead of time will help you better prepare when the time comes to list your house for sale.
